Stoch assisted in derby

Miro helps PAOK beat arch rival Aris 2-0 in Sundays Thessaloniki battle.

Black-and-whites managed to beat Aris on third attempt this season. Miroslav assisted on opening goal by precise free kick from outside box corner and Varela easily headed in for 1-0.

"If we were more effective, the score could be higher. Thanks for the three points, anyway. Games against Aris are always special, it is derby game and we are very happy for the victory. We deserved it, definitely," says Miroslav, who played good game on the left midfield, despite he was out of starting XI since January.

"I was doing my best in the training, just in order to be prepared. Even during the pandemic break, I was training hard on my own and now I think this effort is paying off. I felt quite good on the field, just the hot weather was a big challenge for us. It consumes lot of energy when you play such games."

"I hope we save the second place and get into Champions league preliminaries. We can go 6 points ahead if we beat AEK next game. That would be great," added Slovak international.
